GENERAL ‘SPANISH FOR BEGINNERS' with Anna's Language Club is a fun new concept in learning a language. Spread over 12 weeks this proven-to-be successful course is specially designed to provide you with a solid foundation in your chosen language, while at the same time making new friends and enjoying the delights of the fabulous foods of mainland Spain , South America and Mexico. Chew over your verbs as you sample a selection of tapas or perhaps share a giant paella with your fellow students ( Must be ordered in advance) washed down with a nice Rioja or ‘Cerveza' The groups are kept deliberately small, allowing you maximum individual attention, though of sufficient size to make for plenty of conversation practice ~ en español of course ! Different class times are available including ‘morning coffee', brunch or lunchtime sessions, an afternoon or ‘Happy Hour' class, and the ever-popular ‘6 o'clock club ‘ after work special. It is planned that at least one new 12- week course should begin at the start of each calendar month. A maximum of twelve (12) students per class is maintained wherever possible as this is of the greatest benefit to you. All the courses last twelve (12) weeks and cost £10.00 per student per class (for two hours) There is a one-off charge of £25.00 upon enrolment which covers ALL registration and administration charges, ALL course materials AND club membership, which offers you special discounts, ‘Tapas ‘n' Talk' parties (to polish your conversational skills), Spanish and South American wine tastings, courtesy of ‘ The World Famous Lowestoft Wine Company ', trips to Barcelona and much, much more…We have also discovered a wonderful new café/restaurant which serves GREAT Spanish food…! And don't forget, if you are in business yourself, the possibilities for networking are endless AND encouraged. No books are necessary. Tea and coffee is provided. You may, if you wish, order a glass of wine or beer or some food at the bar (purchased separately). The Bistro room at the top of The Crown Hotel, at 150 High Street , Lowestoft , is large, comfortable, private and totally separate from the bar downstairs. Private parking is available. Family groups are welcome and special rates can be made available for children under sixteen. History This particular course, with its own style and format, came about in late 2003 following a challenge from one of Lowestoft 's leading offshore energy companies. With only twelve (12) weeks in which to do it, most of the engineering and project staff were to attempt to become competent and confident in working Spanish. With no time for ‘waffle' Anna sought to strip the language down to its component parts and patterns and work from within to build a sort of ‘engineering style' working model of the language. One which, in a s simple a form as possible, then allows you to build and continue to build on your own. The challenge was met and this course is the result. It is a fast, compact, inter-linking course that covers a broader breadth than other courses currently available, but it's fun too and seems to have proved very popular, making a real impact.
