It all began with SLP: The visionary offshore Energy Company decided that all its engineering and support staff would learn Spanish to enhance their already good working relationships with Mexico, South American and Houston, Texas. To that end, and given the extremely tight schedule available (only 12 weeks) this course was written and ground tested in late 2003.

April 23 is El Dia de Sant Jordi in Barcelona and Catalunia, as it is in England. It is also called El Dia del Libro, the day of the Book as it commemorates the deaths, both on this day in 1616, of Miquel de Cervantes, creator of 'Don Quixote de La Mancha' and of William Shakespeare.
